Christmas in July
This week we are talking about all things Christmas (insert eye rolls here.) I GET it; we aren’t ready for the holidays yet. However, our customers are already gearing up. I’m in many groups, and Fall/Autumn and holiday items are already being sold. I listed several coaster sets that I have on hand ready to sell and marked them for $12 for 2 as a normal price. Then offered them for $10 for 2 as a Christmas in July Sublimation Style Sale. I sold all of the sets, and have an order to fill for another 10 sets. *Winning because that’s $100 in my pocket.
So today, we will discuss things we can do now to prepare for Christmas in December, but only in July.
What should I make for Christmas in July?
Some inexpensive sublimation items you can make for Christmas in July sales include car coasters, coasters, earrings, keychains, hand towels, or your favorite substrate or blank.
Host a Sale
Setting up your Christmas in July Sale is as easy as 1-2-3. Pick the type of sale you will have.
Pick the dates your sale will run. Most retailers run their specials to coincide with July 4th. (This year, it’s too late, but we still have lots of time to celebrate the remainder of the month. So pick the dates your sale will run. But set up your sale and run it because every successful business relies on sales.

- Free Product with Purchase Discount on a specific item in your store, or discount on the entire purchase.
- Gift Certificates for any value. OR you can have a sale on them and do things like:$25 value for $20, $50 for $40, and $100 for $80
- Gift certificates/coupon codes are a great way to increase profits, now and again in 6 months. For example, spend $100 and get a $20 gift certificate for November/December.
- Free Product with Purchase
- Discount on a specific item in your store, or discount on the entire purchase.

- Free Shipping-Offer Free shipping on all of your purchases.
- Preview of Christmas Items you have ready to sell at a discounted rate.
- Host a giveaway. Entering the giveaway is easy for your customers, for each person that makes a qualifying purchase they are entered to win the prize.
- But my absolute favorite way to make the holidays easier on people is to offer a gift certificate/coupon code with a minimum purchase.

Christmas in July Ideas
Give them an incentive to return. Think of it as an offer to buy now, and save later for return customers. For example, if they purchase something from you during your Christmas in July sale promotion, they get a discount card with active dates of Black Friday through the end of the current calendar year. There, of course, isn’t a guarantee they will make a purchase, but the chances are good that they will.

Christmas in July is a great way to boost sales, clear out your old off-season inventory and, of course, get your name out there to more potential customers. Plus, word of mouth is a great way to build your customer base without a lot of extra work on your part. People love to save money all year long.
