Create a Sublimation Time and Temperature Chart to share with the world of course!

Sticky Notes For The Win…..Well
The sticky notes came, and I had them everywhere by the heat press. Some you could read, while others looked like a toddler wrote them. My husband always found them, asking if I needed them, and then he looked at me and said, “Why don’t you just use a notebook to track them all?” Um…..well, that would make a little more sense. Sometimes I miss the obvious things, especially when learning something new.
I got a notebook and started taking notes and taping down post-it notes on the pages. You guessed it; this was also a flawed system. However, it gave me some valuable insight and kept me semi-organized until I spent more time looking for the correct temperatures to press the item I needed.
Let’s Make a Time and Temperature Chart for the Wall
Okay, the wall was pretty lofty because it turned into a notebook versus a wall versus MESS. I called the “Croffice” a MESS and was getting messier by the day. So after being frustrated, the lightbulb came on, and the Sublimation Time and Temperature Cheat Sheet was where my idea started.
It took hours of research, testing, more testing, and then, of course I had to take my notes and compile them into something useful for everyone. I couldn’t find the sublimation temperature chart I wanted, but I knew it was either out there, or I would make a better one!
But then, once the cogs got to turning, I decided that it needed to be a Sublimation Time and Temperature Chart. I figured I wasn’t the only person looking for a time and temperature guide, yet I wanted to be able to write my times down once I had “perfected” it with my Heat Press times. So I decided to offer it to you in a couple of different ways.
Keep Detailed Notes in Your Sublimation Notebook
I even made a fun little Sublimated Notebook that I could use to track my times and temperatures. But the more products I made, the messier the situation got. While I still have my chicken scratches, I decided there had to be an easier way. What is the recommended time and temperature for sublimation? Keep reading to find that answer!
Sublimation Time and Temperature Chart
So here are the final products of my trials and tribulations. I made a comprehensive Temperature and Time Sublimation Chart.
This Sublimation Temperature Chart is to be used as a guide only.
**Please remember that ALL Heat presses are different; please invest in an infrared thermometer to ensure what temperature yours runs.
Producing quality end products depends on the quality of your substrates, a calibrated heat-press, color management, and following manufacturing guidelines. The art of Sublimation takes testing, practice, and, most importantly, patience.
You will see the list of substrates, the general temperature, the time, and how much pressure on the chart. I left it blank in the final column for you to fill in the time/temperature that is perfect for YOUR Heat Press.
Or, if you prefer, here is a chart that is basically blank for you to fill in once you get your temperature correct. I use a combination of both of them, because there are products I sublimate more often. You have to find a system that works best for you!
