6 Reasons to Not Use Images Found in “Phone Dump” Threads
1. Phone drops are shady and it’s unethical plain and simple. Most images are copyrighted or protected under copyright laws. These laws protect the designer’s artistic works such as graphics by granting the author an exclusive bundle of rights.
2. The images that are left in the dump threads are low quality and won’t look professional. Especially if it’s been uploaded to Facebook, each time it is uploaded, the graininess gets worse.
3. It’s theft, Be a good human. MOST designers watch groups and they will ban you from their pages and/or websites if they see you interacting with these kinds of threads/groups.
3. Pay for the images on Etsy, CreativeFabrica, Design Bundles, Hungry JPG, you wouldn’t want your customer selling your product, and artists depend on the income to pay their bills.
4. Be sure to check on sites like Etsy to do your own due diligence to make sure that the seller IS the designer, or has the RIGHTS to sell the said design(s.)
5. Buy commercial use images so you don’t get into legal issues down the road.
6. Ask someone to design something for you, and offer to pay them for their time, knowledge, and skill. If you are looking for something specific, email me at admin@creativedye.com and I will do my best to help.
